Paper wrapped round & rectangular wires are the principle type of magnet wire that bare Aluminum or Copper conductor wrapped by insulation paper by specific wrapping methods, used for winding coil of transformers, welding machines and other equipments.
Main definations
Overlapping
It refers to the lapping form that the edges of the adjacent paper tapes of the same lapping are mutually overlapped
Width of overlapping
It refers to the width of the paper tape edge overlapped portion during overlapping.
Interlocked lapping
It refers to the lapping form that the two layers of paper tapes which are mutually overlapped(40-60)% are subjected to half overlapping along the same direction.
Open lapping
It refers to the lapping form that the edges of the adjacent paper tapes of the same lapping are not mutually overlapped but have a certain gap.
Width of open lapping
It refers to the distance between the edges of adjacent paper tapes of the same lapping layer during open lapping.
Coincidence of butt gaps
It refers to the coincidence of the adjacent lapping layer gaps during open lapping.
Wrapping Methods according to the general standard
a) It shall by overlapping from the same direction for 3 or less than 3 layers of insulation papers.
the width of overlapping of the paper tape shall be not less than 2 mm, the overlapping portions of the adjacent two layer of paper shall be uniformly staggered, it can be wrapped in the opposite direction according to the requirements of users.
b) If it exceeds 3 layers of insulation papers, according to the user’s requirements, we can partly or fully wrap by open lapping method in replace of overlapping in the middle of the wire. When wrapped by open lapping, the width of open lapping shall not be more than 2mm, the open lapping portions of the adjacent two layer of paper shall be uniformly staggered, when it is 4-6 layers, the conincidence of butt gaps shall not be more than 1 time; when it is 7-16 layers, the conincidence of butt gaps shall not be more than 2 times; when more than 17 layers, conincidence of butt gaps shall not be more than 3 times.
c) By open lapping, when paper are less than 8 layers, it should be wrapped from the same direction; when more than 8 layers, it should be wrapped from other directions, in this moment, you should pay attention to avoid the continius lapping of open lapping.
d) The paper insulation multi-strand wire method is provide by the product standard.
e) The joints or patches of paper tape is allowed. Each joints should be staggered.
